a reiki practice with kay. the gentle work of returning to yourself, hand by hand, breath by breath. a reiki practice with kay. for the body that is asking, quietly, to be held. a reiki practice with kay. for what has been carried, and is ready to soften. a reiki practice with kay. for the warmth that has gone cool, and wants to return. a reiki practice with kay. for the breath that has been held, and is asking to move. a reiki practice with kay. for the stillness beneath everything you have been carrying.
how the body needs to be met, today.
Reiki is a Japanese practice of energy work, offered through still, lightly placed hands. Rei means universal. Ki means life force. Together: the breath that moves through everything, gently encouraged.
A session is not treatment in the medical sense. It is closer to permission. Permission for the nervous system to soften. Permission for the body to do the slow, intelligent work it has always known how to do, given a quiet enough room to do it in.
You stay clothed. You lie down. Hands rest above or lightly upon the body, in a sequence held for a thousand years. Most people drift. Some sleep. Many cry, quietly, without quite knowing why.
Afterwards, you are returned to yourself, a little slower, a little softer, a little more here.
"the body has its own intelligence. reiki simply gives it the room to remember." "the body knows how to land. it has only been waiting for somewhere quiet enough to do so." "what we carry, the body remembers. what we release, the body forgives." "warmth, given, is warmth returned. the body has not forgotten how to glow." "the breath, when allowed, finds its own way home." "beneath every held thing is a stillness that has always been waiting."
Kay is a reiki practitioner based in Manchester. She once treated a young boy who could not walk, holding a football. His name was Cristiano Ronaldo.
For those who carry more than they can name. For those who have not slept properly in months. For those who are between things, with no clear next. For those who have tried other things, gently, and something is still asking to be heard. For those who are simply curious, which is reason enough.
You will leave a little slower. A little softer. Breathing more deeply, without noticing. With something released, that you may not name for hours. With the quiet that sometimes follows weeping. Ready for tea, or sleep, or both.
A short conversation. Tea, if you would like it. We discuss what has brought you, gently, and only as far as you wish to share. There is no script.
You lie fully clothed on the treatment table, covered with a soft blanket. Lights are low. The room is warm. Music is optional and quiet.
Hands rest above or lightly upon the body, held in a traditional sequence. You may feel warmth, a gentle tingling, a deep relaxation, or nothing at all. All of it is right.
A few quiet minutes to rejoin the room. A glass of water. A short conversation if it serves you. You leave when you are ready, not before.
A longer first meeting. We sit, we talk briefly, we begin. Time enough for the body to settle and for any conversation that needs to follow.
For those returning. A focused hour of bodywork with brief opening and closing. Most people find rhythm in fortnightly or monthly sessions.
Reiki offered remotely, by appointment. You rest at home, in your own space, at the agreed hour. The practice is no less present for being unseen.
For those committing to a longer arc. Five sixty-minute sessions, taken at your own rhythm over a season. The body benefits from regularity; the price reflects it.
a few quiet questions, so when you meet, you already understand each other a little. take as long as you would like.
select what feels true. you can choose more than one. there are no wrong answers, only honest ones.
a rough sense is enough.
